A world-class climbing destination, Frankenjura, is located just 2 hours north of Munich, between Bamberg, Bayreuth and, Nuremberg. The village of Obertrubach is situated in the heart of Frankenjura, in the beautiful Trubach valley. Trubachtal has idyllic little villages nestled in graceful valleys.
Climbing options are extensive—countless limestone crags with thousands of routes of all grades. Routes are easy to find, most approaches are under 10 minutes.
Bring a tent to camp at Gasthof Eichler. It's within walking distance of a high density of crags, so just follow the people with ropes. It’s a popular area, lots of other climbers and close to Zehnerstein.
Zehnerstein, recognisable by the prominent piton on top, has a range of routes from beginner to expert.
